Wayfær’s Härth is a Northern Arizona based bakery & experimental kitchen, specializing in Heirloom Einkorn Wheat Sourdough breads, herbal pastries, tonic syrups, and other alchemically based concoctions.

Inspired by the tradecraft of the artisans of old, the traditions of ancestral herbal medicine, and the arboriculture & horticulture from which remedies are born, Wayfær’s Härth is here to curate its pantry stores to you and yours.

Our story

Wayfær’s Härth started in 2008, as a waking dream had upon the road one fateful day in spring. All it took was some solemn moments at a stop light, a deepening remembrance of childhood, the inner knowing that came with some epiphanies, and a love for the mythology of the elves, their lands, and the stories that survive. It all tells a tale of awe, and its return to this here artisan.

From multi ingredient savory and sweet breads cooked evenly upon a stone, to hand tossed and deep sourdough fermented heirloom grains, to the upgraded recipes in wait, a path lay ahead.

Wayfaers is a culmination in the making, of a great fermented bread, mixed with finally curated ingredients, stretched and pulled with love, then baked with a tended fire.

Our ingredients

We use only Organic Einkorn Wheat in our sourdough preparations. Einkorn’s A Genome for gluten is a different type of gluten than modern Wheat’s D genome, which does not register on the Elisa Test for gluten.

Fresh spring water, sea salt, and an heirloom sourdough culture finish the mix.
